Folly

Folly is the opposite of wisdom. Folly is the contrary of wisdom, whereas fatuity is the sheer absence of wisdom.

Folly is dullness in judging, especially in matters that relate to God and the good of the soul. When folly results from inordinate love and use of earthly things, it is a sin.

Since a man’s sense is plunged into earthly things by lust more than by any other vice, folly is called “the daughter of lust.”
